Swift makes several quite different vehicles
Select panel-van conversions, Escape and Voyager coachbuilts and larger Kon-Tiki models should not be treated as one generic range. Use the complete model name, number and year on the quotation.
Check the registration result
The database may identify the Fiat or Ford base before it identifies the Swift body. Read the final schedule and correct missing conversion details. The VIN, handbook and Swift build plate are useful where a derivative is not listed.
Value like for like
Compare the same range, layout, chassis, age and condition. A larger Kon-Tiki is not a suitable guide to the value of an Escape or Select. Keep the purchase invoice and recent photographs, then ask how a total-loss settlement would be calculated.
Weight and licence entitlement
Read the current maximum authorised mass rather than relying on the model name. Larger vehicles may require entitlement above category B. If the Swift has been uprated, make sure its documents are current and declare the change.
Travelling seats and additions
Give the actual number of approved belted seats, which may be lower than the berth count. Declare solar panels, extra batteries, an awning, cycle carrier, tow bar, levelling system or suspension changes when asked.
Glass and touring abroad
On an integrated model, check the windscreen limit and excess. Before going overseas, confirm permitted countries, trip duration and breakdown recovery for the Swift’s dimensions and weight.
