Record the full model, not just the marque
Niesmann+Bischoff builds premium integrated motorhomes. Arto, Flair and iSmove models can differ greatly in length, chassis, weight and value, so use the complete model designation and year when asking for cover.
Make sure the conversion is recognised
A registration search may return the Fiat or Iveco base rather than the finished motorhome. Check the quotation schedule carefully. For an import or an unusual derivative, the VIN, certificate of conformity and purchase invoice can help establish exactly what it is.
Value needs evidence
Use comparable examples of the same range, age and condition. Include significant factory options, but do not simply add every invoice to the purchase price. Ask whether claims are settled at market value or whether an agreed-value option is available, and what documents that option requires.
Read both the weight plate and your licence
Many examples exceed 3,500kg. Check the vehicle’s current maximum authorised mass and each driver’s licence entitlement. If it has been uprated or downplated, the V5C and physical plate should reflect the current position.
Glass, equipment and recovery
An integrated windscreen can be costly, so read the glass limit and excess. Declare additions such as solar panels, lithium batteries, levelling systems, satellite equipment or a tow bar when asked. Breakdown cover must accept the motorhome’s length, height and weight.
Continental use
Confirm the countries covered, maximum trip length and arrangements for repatriating a large vehicle. Keep to any storage, alarm or tracker condition shown on the policy.
